The Boyd’s Station 2nd Annual BIG LITTLE LIGHTING WORKSHOP 2019 brings together USA TODAY’s Robert Hanashiro direct from Los Angeles and Robert Deutsch from NYC for this very special one-on-one location lighting workshop in Harrison County, Kentucky.
The USA TODAY dynamic duo will show you the tips and techniques and demonstrate that it doesn’t take amazing locations and elaborate lighting to make fantastic portraits.
Join Bob and Bert at Boyd’s Station for this FREE ALL-DAY workshop showing you up close and personal how to achieve big success with Nikon Speedlights and various small footprint modifiers.
Spend the day getting real world instruction on making amazing portraits on-location from two of the best in the business with tools most photographers have in their bags during this workshop presented by the BOYD’S STATION PROJECT 306.36 VISUAL DOCUMENTARY PROGRAM in Harrison County, Kentucky.

Robert Deutsch was asked to become one of only six staff photographers when USA Today launched in 1982 basing him in New York City. As a staff photographer for USA Today, he has covered a wide range of subjects including entertainment, news, politics, sports and feature stories throughout the United States and the world. In last four decades, Robert has covered 17 Olympic Games, 30 Superbowls, 31 World Series, 32 Final Fours, 41 US Tennis Opens, various NBA Finals, U.S. and British Golf Opens, and countless other events across the country.
Robert Hanashiro is the West Coast staff photographer for USA TODAY. He has covered every major sports event imaginable from the Super Bowl to the Final Four to the World Series to the NBA Finals to the World Cup. He has also covered 14 Olympic Games. Hanashiro's duties for USA TODAY also include covering the entertainment industry, producing portraits of many of the world’s leading actors, directors and musicians. He also covers the major awards shows including the Grammy, Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
